Is the Better Together update coming to the New Nintendo 3DS Edition?
We will continue to get updates after launch, but will not receive the Better Together update.
Can I play Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition on any Nintendo 3DS hardware types?
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition can only be played on the New Nintendo 3DS series (New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL and New Nintendo 2DS XL systems).
Can I play multiplayer?
Multiplayer is not available at this time.
Does the New Nintendo 3DS Edition have the Super Mario Mash-up Pack included?
The Super Mario Mash-up Pack is not included at release. Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition includes five skin packs and two texture packs to customize your world. They are:
- Biome Settlers 1 & 2 skin packs
- Journey to the West skin pack
- Holiday 2015 skin pack
- Redstone Specialist skin pack
- Plastic texture pack
- City texture pack
Does the New Nintendo 3DS Edition support 3D?
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is only playable in standard 2D viewing modes.
Does the New Nintendo 3DS Edition support additional content to download?
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition includes five skin packs and two texture packs to customize your world. We’ll have more to share on additional downloadable content later.
Can I transfer saves from other Nintendo Platforms?
There is no way to transfer your saves from other platforms into Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition. Please enjoy the unique experience on the New Nintendo 3DS Edition from the start.
Is the world size on Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition different than other consoles?
Worlds on the New Nintendo 3DS Edition are larger than the worlds in the Wii U Edition.
What version of Minecraft is the Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition?
At release, this edition will be the close equivalent of 0.15.4 of the Minecraft: Pocket Edition. As with all new releases of Minecraft, from a development standpoint, we start from a known version of the game and then continually provide updates. Therefore, content in the New Nintendo 3DS Edition at its release will vary from content available in other editions. We will keep updating the game as long as people keep playing.
Why is my eManual not in the same language that I've selected for the game?
This is a known behavior and eManuals will open in the language you have selected for your New Nintendo 3DS system language. Please change your system language on your New Nintendo 3DS system if you want to change the language of your eManual.
How do I update Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition?
A wireless internet connection is required to download software updates, and your system must be online at the time of the update. To update:
- From the HOME Menu, launch Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition.
- If an update is available, you’ll see "A software update is available" appear on the upper screen.
- Select Update or press the Y Button to begin the update process. You can also choose not to update now if you want to update later.
Two options will be available: "Download Now" and "View Details in Nintendo eShop and then Download."
Selecting this option will allow you to immediately download the software update data. The software update will be performed immediately, and may take a while. To perform this action:
- Select Download Now.
- Select Yes or press the A Button to continue.
- Once the update is complete, select OK or press the A Button.
View Details in Nintendo eShop and then download
Selecting View Details in Nintendo eShop will take you to the Nintendo eShop page. From here, the software update can either be applied immediately, or you can choose the download later option to download the update while the system is in sleep mode. To perform this action:
- Select View Details...
- Once the Nintendo eShop loads, select Tap Here to Download.
- Select Next when asked to review rating information.
- Select Download.
- Items downloaded now will begin immediately.
- Items downloaded later will begin when the system enters sleep mode.
Once the download is complete, the update will automatically be applied. After starting the game, you can go to Options > Patch notes from the main menu to see the details of the update.
