What is the warranty period for Xbox consoles and accessories, and what does the warranty cover?

To read the details of the warranty period and coverage for your Xbox console, Kinect sensor or bundled or refurbished devices, see the warranty and software licence for your product below.

Note The warranty and software licence for your Xbox console also includes accessories such as controllers.

How much does it cost to have my product repaired?

Repair costs vary based on the device, region, and shipping method. To price a repair request, go to Device Support, select either Repair my device or Replace an accessory, enter the repair information and select a delivery method. The cost will be displayed and you can then proceed with or cancel the request.

How do I find out if my console is under warranty?

To see if your console or device is under warranty, sign in to Device Support. Under “Warranty”, select Check warranty status. The warranty for your registered device is shown under the product serial number.

How do I register my product?

To register your Xbox console or Kinect sensor, follow the steps at Register your Xbox product.

Why don't I see a product that I previously registered?

Did you register your product by phone? Make sure you also register your Xbox product online using the same name and address used when you registered the product by phone.

Do you have more than one Microsoft account? Make sure you sign in using the Microsoft account used to register your Xbox product.

Is cosmetic damage covered under warranty?

Cosmetic damages, such as scratches, cracks, nicks, and normal wear and tear, are not covered under the Xbox Product Warranty.

What is my warranty after my console or Kinect is serviced?

We provide a post-service warranty. The length of the warranty depends on whether the service was in warranty or out of warranty. If your Xbox console or Kinect sensor was serviced, you’ll receive either the balance of your original warranty or 95 days from our delivery to you, whichever is longer.
