Error C0051207 occurs when you use the Kinect Sensor

    Problem

You see the following error code and message when you try to use the Kinect Sensor:

Connect a valid sensor to your console
    C0051207

This may mean that your Kinect Sensor is not connected correctly.

    Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

    • Make sure the Kinect sensor is plugged in correctly and try again.
      • Xbox 360 E console
    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Unplug the sensor from the console and then plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.
Important Remove the Power/USB adaptor cable if your Kinect sensor came with one.
    3. Turn on the console.
    • Xbox 360 S console
    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Unplug the sensor from the console and then plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.
    3. Important Remove the Power/USB adaptor cable if your Kinect sensor came with one.

    4. Turn on the console.
    • Original Xbox 360 console
    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a working power point.
    3. Make sure that the USB connector is plugged into the back of the console.
    4. The light located near the middle of the split cable should be green.

No green light? Try plugging the cable into another power point to make sure that the cable is working properly.

    1. Turn on the console.
    • Replace the cable.
If you still don't see a green light after plugging the cable into another outlet, your cable needs to be replaced. You can order a replacement cable from the Xbox Online Service Centre (sign in with your Microsoft account). Console registration may be required.
    • If this solution doesn't resolve the problem, go to the Online Service Centre and click Start Request to request a repair.
