Error 3CD6 occurs when you download an update to your Xbox 360 console
Problem
You may see an error code and message that resembles the following when you try to download a console software update on your Xbox 360 console:
Can't download the update. To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox Live Connection.
Status code: 3CD6-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxx-xxx
Update failed
Status code: 3CD6-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxx-xxx
Note In these error codes, the x characters are placeholders. The actual error code varies by region.
This means that the console software update could not be installed on your Xbox 360.

Solution 2: Try to install the system update at a different location
If you continue to experience this issue, try installing the update at a different location. For example, remove the hard drive from your Xbox console, install the hard drive on a friend’s Xbox console, and then try to install the update again. (For help, see Add or remove an Xbox 360 Hard Drive .
