How to manage your child's Xbox subscription

To manage the payment option for your child's Xbox subscription, you must sign in using the Microsoft email address and password of the child's account, not the parent's account.

Adding or updating a payment option for your child's Xbox subscription

If the payment option you use to pay for your child's Xbox subscription is expired or no longer valid, you'll need to update it so they don't lose access to their subscription.

Here's how to change how you pay for your child's Xbox subscription online:

  1. Sign in to your Services and subscriptions page with your child's Microsoft account.
  2. If you're not sure what the email address or password is for your child's Microsoft account, use the Lost Account Solution or the Lost Password Solution.
  3. Find the Xbox subscription you want to change in the list, and then select Change how you pay.
  1. You can either select a current payment option from the list or select Add a new way to pay, select Next, and then follow the instructions to set up a credit card, debit card, PayPal account, or mobile phone carrier as a new payment option.

After you've updated how you pay for your child's Xbox subscription, you can remove the payment option you no longer want to use.

If you want to add, change, or update a payment option for your child's Microsoft account that is not tied to an Xbox subscription, go to Add, update or remove credit cards and other ways to pay and follow the instructions.

If you want to use a digital subscription code instead of a renewing subscription, you can redeem a digital code online. You'll still need to cancel your child's current Xbox subscription to avoid any renewal fees.

If your child's Xbox subscription is past due, adding a digital subscription code will not settle the balance you owe. You'll need to settle the past-due balance before redeeming your digital code.
