Xbox Live connection problems

The Viaplay app doesn't respond

If the Viaplay app doesn't respond, delete and reinstall the app. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to Viaplay.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps, and then select Viaplay.
  9. Select Download and then Confirm Purchase to download and install the app.

If you keep getting the error, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the Viaplay app.

Connectivity errors

  • Can’t connect to the Viaplay Service. Error code: 0C01
  • Can’t connect to the Viaplay Service. Error code: 8009
  • Can’t connect to the Viaplay Service. Error code: 0304

To resolve these errors, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Service status to check for current issues with the service.
  2. If there are no issues and you get this error when you try to start or view programs in the app, wait about a minute and try again.
  3. If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the Viaplay app.
  4. If this does not resolve your problem, contact Xbox Support.

Availability errors

  • Sorry, the item you're interested in is no longer available.
  • Sorry, an error occured while attempting to play the media content.
  • Please select the retry button below or try again later.

  • Could not connect to the authorization service, please try again at a later time.
  • This sport event has not started yet. Please come back later.

If you get one of these errors, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Service status to check for current issues with the service.
  2. If there are no issues, wait about a minute and try again.
  3. If you get the error again, select something else to watch.
  4. To notify Viaplay of the content error, visit support.viaplay.se.
  • You must be logged in to play this content.

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you are logged in using a valid Viaplay account with an active subscription associated to it.
  2. If you are logged in, log out. Wait about a minute and try again.
  3. For account support, contact Viaplay:
  • This sporting event is already completed and cannot be shown anymore.

Return to the previous menu and select something else to watch.

To report the content error, go to Viaplay.se/support.

Account errors

  • An error occurred connecting to the authentication service. Try again later.

This error occurs when you are trying to log out or disassociate your Viaplay account from your Xbox Live gamertag. There is a problem contacting the Viaplay servers.

  1. Go to Service status to check for current issues with the service.
  2. If there are no issues, wait about a minute and then try to log in to your account again.
  3. For account support, contact Viaplay.
  • The auth service could not be reached. Visit viaplay.se or xbox.com/status for more info.
  • Either the Username or Password is incorrect. Please attempt to login again.
  • You must enter both username and password to proceed.
  • There was an error linking your Viaplay account with Xbox gamertag.

To resolve these errors, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Service status to check for current issues with the service.
  2. If there are no reported issues, retry the activation process. Double-check your email and password to make sure they are correct.
  3. For account support, contact http://support.viaplay.se.
