You see the following error message when you try to download content from Xbox Live:
Information cannot be retrieved from Xbox Live at this time. Please try again later. Status Code: 80072F76
Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later.
Status code: 80072F76
This may mean one of the following things:
- Some Xbox Live features are not available because of system maintenance or a temporary Xbox Live issue.
- You can’t access Xbox Live because of a network configuration issue.
To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.
Solution 1: Check the status of the Xbox Live service
Check for service alerts at Xbox Live status, or see if there’s an Xbox Live service alert at the top of this page. If there are any current service alerts, wait a while and then try again.
US customers only: If a specific service or app is experiencing an outage, you can request SMS or voice notification when the outage is resolved. Under the app or service name, click Notify me when this service or app is up and running.
Solution 2: Test your connection
Test the Xbox Live connection on your Xbox 360 console. Here's how:
- Press the Guide button on your controller.
- Go to settings and then System Settings.
- Select Network Settings.
- If prompted, select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network.
- Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
If the test fails and you can't connect to Xbox Live, see the Xbox 360 Connection Error Solution.
If you still get the error, try the next solution.
