You see the following error code and message when you’re downloading an Xbox 360 console software update:
Can't download the update. To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox Live Connection.
Status code: d0000034
This may mean that there’s a network issue, insufficient space on your storage device, a problem with the storage device, or a problem with the system cache.
Solution 1: Again try to install the update. Here’s how:

Solution 2: Make sure you have enough storage space
The latest console software update requires at least 190 megabytes (MB) of storage space (or 256 MB if you live in Japan). If you don’t have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. See Copy, move, or delete content.
If this didn’t fix the problem, try the next solution.
Solution 3: Clear the system cache. Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. See Clear your Xbox 360 system cache.
After you clear the cache, try the update again. If this didn’t fix the problem, try the next solution.
Solution 4: Reinsert the storage device
After you replace the storage device, try the update again. If this didn’t fix the problem, try the next solution.
Solution 5: Copy the update to removable media and install it from there. Here’s how:
Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
You can also download the update to your computer, burn the update to a CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:
