Troubleshoot copying games and apps using network transfer

If you’ve already enabled network game transfer on your “host” Xbox (the console you’re copying games and apps from), the items you’ve selected will copy over when these conditions are met:

  • Both consoles are connected to the same local network (using a guest or public network isn’t recommended). You should see your host Xbox on the network transfer page. To check, go to System > Settings > Network > Network transfer.
  • Your host Xbox is powered on when you start the transfer on the other Xbox. If it’s set up for instant-on power mode, make sure it’s not in standby mode.
  • You’re not playing a game on the host Xbox. Launching a game pauses the automatic transfer.

To manually restart a network transfer while you’re playing a game, go to My games & apps > Queue.
