Multitasking on Xbox One

The guide offers several ways to do two things at once, like listening to music while you play, broadcasting your game, capturing clips and screenshots, and tracking achievements.

Background music

Launch a music app that supports background music, such as Pandora. Once music is playing, start a game. Your music will continue playing in the background.

For playback controls, open the guide and highlight the music app.

Broadcasting

To broadcast your game over Mixer, first start a game. Then open the guide and select Broadcast & capture > Broadcast.

To broadcast over Twitch, start a game, then open the guide and select Twitch from Games & apps (or under Recent if it's there). Then select Broadcast > Start broadcast.

Game DVR

For Game DVR options, open the guide from your game, and then:

  • Press Y for a screenshot.
  • Press X to record the last 30 seconds.
  • Press the View button  for more recording options.

Achievements

Use the achievement tracker to monitor your progress while you play. Open the guide from your game, then select Achievements and turn on the achievement tracker.

For more info about tracking your achievements, see Tracking achievements in your game.
