Error 80070020 occurs when you launch an app on your Xbox One console
You see the following error code when you use your Xbox One console:
This error can occur if you try to launch an app that is already running.
If the app or game was recently used, try the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status
If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:
Solution 2: Quit and relaunch the app
- Use your left stick or D-pad to scroll down and point to the app in the recently used apps section of the Home screen.
- Press the Menu button on your controller.
- Select Quit.
- Launch the app again.
Solution 3: Restart the console.
- Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
- Select Restart console.
- Select Restart.
- Once the console restarts, try launching the app again.
Note If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart. Try launching the app again.
