Error 80070079 occurs when connecting to or using an Xbox Live feature
You see the following error code when you try to connect to Xbox Live or use an Xbox Live feature:
This may mean that you can't connect to Xbox Live because of a temporary network issue.
Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status
If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:
Solution 2: Check and troubleshoot your connection to Xbox Live
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All Settings.
- Under Network, select Network settings.
- Select Detailed network statistics. If you're seeing more than 5-percent packet loss, troubleshoot your connection using the Xbox One Slow Performance Solution.
