Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition is a content bundle containing the following additional games and add-on items:

All existing Killer Instinct games will continue to be free to play, with additional content available to buy. If you already own content and purchase the Definitive Edition, you’ll receive the additional content, which will be available to install on your Xbox One and Windows 10 device.
To install on Xbox One:
On Windows 10, the add-on items and characters will automatically be available when you play the game. To install Killer Instinct: Ultra Edition, Killer Instinct 2: Ultra Edition, and Killer Instinct 3: Ultra Edition:

When you purchase an Xbox Play Anywhere title digitally, it’s yours to play on both Xbox and Windows 10. You only need to purchase the game once via Microsoft Store on your Xbox or Windows 10 device and it’ll appear in your game library wherever you sign in.
If you’ve purchased the game or content on Xbox and want to play on your Windows 10 device, sign in on your Windows 10 device. If the game is already installed on your device, it’ll appear in your list of apps; otherwise, you can install it by opening the Store and selecting My library.
If you’ve purchased the game or content on Windows 10 and want to play on your Xbox console, sign in on your console and go to My games and apps. If the game is already installed, it’ll appear in your game list; otherwise, you can find it in the Ready to install section.

If you’ve already played Killer Instinct on Xbox One and start a game on Windows 10 using the same account, you may get the following warning message:

If you press the B button and continue without saving, any previous Killer Instinct progress saved under your gamertag on Xbox One will be deleted, and your progress will continue the next time you sync your Windows 10 device.
To download and install Killer Instinct on Windows 10, you need a device running version 1607, with OS Build 14393.0 or later.
Additionally, your device must be running a 64-bit version of Windows 10. If you have a 32-bit version, you will not be able to play Killer Instinct.

The download time varies depending on the speed of your Internet connection. On average, it takes about 3 hours to download 30 GB over a 20-megabits per second (Mbps) connection.
While the game is downloading, do not cancel the download or shut down your computer. The Killer Instinct icon will appear on your Home screen once the download is complete.

If you play offline, some features, such as the ability to purchase additional items from Microsoft Store, will not be available. Additionally, any leaderboards will be unavailable while you're offline.
If you earn any achievements while playing offline, they will sync to your account the next time you sign in to Xbox Live on your device. Your game save progress will also sync when you sign in to Xbox Live.
