Error 0x80072EFE occurs when you update or install content on your Xbox One console

You see the following error code when you try to install or update a game or app on your Xbox One console:

    Error 0x80072EFE

This means that the network connection was interrupted while trying to get the update for this title.

    Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Purchase and Content Usage: up and running
    2019-02-23T15:19:38.8963925+00:00

Solution 2: Restart your home networking device

Try restarting your modem, gateway, or router. Often this will fix the problem. If it doesn’t, try the next solution.

Solution 3: Test your connection to Xbox Live

Check your Detailed network statistics to make sure your packet loss is less than 5 percent:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select System > Settings > Network > Network settings.
    3. Select Detailed network statistics.
    4. View the information for Packet loss.

If you see more than 5-percent packet loss, run the Xbox One Multiplayer Connection Error Solution and select You have high packet loss.
