Error 16 occurs when you use the Xbox 360 Kinect microphone
You see the following error message when you use your Xbox 360 Kinect sensor microphone:
Kinect couldn’t hear the whole calibration tone.
Error code 16
If you see this error message when you’re using Kinect, it means the Kinect sensor microphone is having trouble hearing you.
Solution 1: Select “More info” and then “Try again”
When you get the error message, select More Info to see suggestions on how to correct the problem. After you make the suggested changes, select Try Again to run the test again.
Solution 2: Make sure that the Kinect sensor is positioned correctly

Solution 3: Request a repair
If the previous steps didn't resolve the problem, go to the Online Service Centre and click Start Request to request a repair.
