Make sure you have enough storage space
The latest console software update requires at least 190 megabytes (MB) of storage space (or 256 MB if you live in Japan). If you don’t have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. See Copy, move, or delete Xbox saved games, profiles, and avatar items.
If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.
Clear the system cache
Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. Clear your Xbox 360 system cache , and then try downloading the update again.

Reinsert the storage device
If you’re using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit or a USB flash drive instead of a hard drive, remove and reinsert the Memory Unit or USB flash drive.
After you replace the storage device, try downloading the update again.

Apply the update from a USB flash drive or disc
If none of the preceding solutions fixed the problem, copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive, CD, or DVD. Then, install the update on your console. Here’s how:
Copy to a USB flash drive
Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
Double-click to unzip the file.
Insert a blank writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and select to write (burn) the files to the disc.
Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
Restart the console.
When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
If you get an error code such as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-C000-0001 (the “x” digits vary) after you copy the update to a flash drive or disc and then install the update on your console, contact Xbox Support by clicking the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of this page.
