There may be times when you need to remove or replace your security information for your Microsoft account. For example, if you get a new phone number or email address or if you mistyped your security information. To remove and replace all of the security information for your Microsoft account, follow these steps.
Note If you've removed and replaced your security information within the last 30 days, you'll have to wait until the 30-day period is over before you can do it again. This waiting period helps protect your account if an attacker gets your password.
