You see the following error message when you try to download your Xbox Live profile on your Xbox 360 console:
Sorry, Xbox Live profiles can't be downloaded right now. Please try again later.
Status Code: 80151004
This can mean one of the following:
You’ll need your Microsoft account email address and password to complete these steps. If you don’t know your email address or password, see Find your Microsoft account email address or password.
Solution 1: Verify the information for your Microsoft account
To do this, follow these steps:
Solution 2: Create a unique app password for two-step verification
If you recently signed up for two-step verification, you’ll need to create a unique app password in your Microsoft account.
Note To check if two-step verification is turned on for your account, sign in to your Microsoft account and then select Security info.
If two-step verification is turned on for your Microsoft account, you may see an incorrect password error when you use an app or device that doesn’t accept security codes. For example, some smartphone email apps and devices such as the Xbox 360 console do not accept security codes.
In these cases, you won’t be prompted to enter a security code when you try to sign in. To resolve this issue, you'll need to create a unique app password in your Microsoft account that’s associated to the app or device. After you sign in to that app or device with your unique app password, you're all set.
Note You need to create a unique app password for each app or device that doesn’t prompt you for security information. For more information about app passwords and two-step verification, see App passwords and two-step verification.
To create a unique password for an app or a device, follow these steps:
After you sign in with your app password, you're all set to use that app or device. You’ll use this new password to sign in to your device instead of using your Microsoft account password.
If you want to turn off two-step verification:
Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile is downloaded, you can choose whether to require input of your Microsoft account password to sign in to your profile.
Solution 4: Delete the corrupted profile and then redownload your profile
To delete the corrupted profile that’s stored on your Xbox console, follow these steps:
To redownload your profile, follow the steps in Solution 3, above.
Solution 5: Clear the system cache
To clear the system cache, follow these steps.
