Online games are at their best when everyone plays fairly and treats other players with respect. Forza Motorsport & Forza Horizon, like many online games, can enforce adherence to fair play by using game-specific bans.
This article describes multiplayer bans in Forza titles, including what behavior can trigger a ban, and the consequences of being banned from Forza title features and multiplayer gameplay.
A ban prevents an Xbox Live profile from using features of Forza titles. Bans are specific to a player’s profile, so changing a banned player’s gamertag does not eliminate a ban. Banned players will see a message stating the terms of the ban when they try to use features of the game.
Note A player can be banned from Forza titles independently of other Xbox Live enforcement actions. A user can be banned from this game but still be able to use Xbox Live and play other games online.
Generally, players are banned for repeated demonstrations of offensive behavior, cheating or unfair play. Players can also be banned for accessing content (saves, map packs, and so on) that is licensed to a banned profile. Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
A message explaining the details of the ban appears when you try to access the affected feature.
Players who are banned because of hacking or mods receive a connection error when they try to access online features. A message explaining the ban is available in the Message Center, which is accessible from the pause menu.

Most bans occur because of unacceptable behavior or content, such as lewd decoration on a car. On the first offense, a player receives a temporary ban from using that feature, usually of a few weeks. Subsequent offenses will lead to either another temporary, or even permanent, ban from that feature.
Banned players cannot access the specific game feature that is relevant to their ban (for example, vinyl customization). Bans for hacking or using a modified console blocks access to all online features of the game. These bans are always permanent, and there is no appeal process for bans.
There are many features of the game that are still available to banned players:
