Xbox 360 console doesn't prompt you for a security code

I turned on two-step verification. How do I sign in to my Xbox 360 when it doesn’t ask me for a security code?
To sign in on Xbox 360 using two-step verification, you must first create an app password. You'll use this password instead of your Microsoft account password to sign in on your console.
Set up an app password
- Sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Under Security, scroll down to more security options.
Note Due to the sensitive nature of your security information, we’ll ask you to receive a code so we know you’re you.
- Select Create a new app password.
- Note the system-generated app password. Enter this password on your Xbox 360 console when prompted.
Important We recommend that you save this password in a safe place.
- To save this password on your console, check the box when you're asked if you want to save your password.
Change an app password
You may want to change your app password to help improve the security of your account. Here's how:
- Sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Under Security, scroll down to more security options.
Note Due to the sensitive nature of your security information, we’ll ask you to receive a code so we know you’re you.
- Select Remove existing app passwords.
Note This removes all app passwords you've created for your various devices or apps. You'll need to replace them all individually.
- Follow the steps in Set up an app password, earlier in this article, to set up a new app password.
