Manage your Xbox One passkey

Learn how to change or delete the personal passkey on your Xbox One console to help keep your information safe and secure. If you've forgotten your passkey, find out what steps to take to get a new one.

Remove your passkey

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select System > Settings > Account.
  3. Select Sign-in, security & passkey.
  4. Select Delete my passkey.

Change your passkey

To change your passkey, you must first delete the existing one. Follow the preceding steps to remove your passkey.

Once your passkey has been removed, you can create a new one:

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select System > Settings > Account.
  3. Select Sign-in, security & passkey.
  4. Select Create my passkey.
  5. Enter a six-digit passkey, and then re-enter it to confirm.

Forgot your passkey?

If you've forgotten your passkey, you can get a new one using your Microsoft account password.

  1. When you’re prompted to enter your passkey on the console, enter any six-digit combination three times.
  2. Enter your Microsoft account password when prompted.
  3. Select Make a new passkey.
  4. Enter a new passkey, and then enter it again to confirm.

You now have a new passkey.
