What can I purchase with a Microsoft gift card?
Microsoft Gift Cards work the same way as Xbox Gift Cards and are a great way to get the latest games, apps, and entertainment from the Microsoft Store. Once you redeem your gift card to your Microsoft account, use it to purchase content from any participating Microsoft Store.
What can I purchase with an Xbox Live Gold subscription prepaid code?
An Xbox Live Gold subscription prepaid code can be used to purchase either a 1-, 3-, or 12- month Xbox Live Gold subscription to use on your Xbox console. You can’t purchase anything else with this type of prepaid code.
What can I purchase with other types of prepaid codes?
Besides Xbox Gift Cards, Microsoft Gift Cards, and Xbox Live Gold subscription prepaid codes, there are other types of prepaid codes for specific items.
Examples include the EA Access Pass for Xbox One Download Code, game-specific prepaid download codes, and downloadable content codes for specific games.
These prepaid codes can only be used to purchase the intended Xbox subscription or content. You can’t purchase anything else with this type of prepaid code.
In August 2013, Microsoft Points were retired. Transactions on the Xbox now take place using your local currency.* Microsoft Points cards you purchase from retailers will continue to be redeemable on your console and Xbox.com until further notice.
