Project Spark retirement
Project Spark has been discontinued, and the game will no longer be available for purchase or download from Microsoft Store after May 13, 2016. On August 12, 2016, services will go offline for existing users.
Project Spark was made available for free on October 5, 2015. If you purchased and played the Project Spark Starter Kit between June 28, 2015, and October 5, 2015, you should have already received a credit to your Microsoft account.
If you purchased and redeemed the code inside a retail copy of Project Spark on or after October 5, 2015, you will receive a credit to your Microsoft account. This can be used to purchase content in Microsoft Store.
For more information, visit the Project Spark website.
Receiving your Microsoft account credit
You will receive a Microsoft account credit if the following are true:
- You purchased and redeemed the code inside a retail copy of Project Spark on or after October 5, 2015. This means that you used a physical copy of the game to play Project Spark for the first time.
- You are signed in to the same account that you used to play the game. For example, if there are three accounts on your Xbox One console and you launched and played the game with someone else’s account, the credit will appear on their account.
- You did not launch and play Project Spark prior to October 5, 2015. Project Spark was a game available only by purchase before this date and is therefore not eligible for this credit.
Your credit will appear in your account within 30 to 60 days of the game closing on May 13, 2016. The credit you receive will be in the currency matching your Microsoft account.
Spending your Microsoft account credit
You can use the credit that you receive to make purchases in Microsoft Store. For more information on managing your Microsoft account credit, see Check your Microsoft account balance.
If you own Project Spark, you'll be able to continue playing offline, but you'll no longer be able to download user-generated content or upload your own creations after August 12, 2016.
