Troubleshoot Flixster app issues

Overview

This article describes how to resolve problems with the Flixster app on Xbox 360.

Xbox Live connection problems

If the Flixster app isn’t functioning smoothly on your console, you may have a connectivity problem. See Issues with connection speed or disconnects.

The Flixster app doesn't respond

If the Flixster app doesn’t respond, delete and reinstall it. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to "Flixster app."
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps, and then select Flixster app.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you keep getting the error, use the "Contact us" link at the bottom of this page to contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the Flixster app.

  • Flixster Server Unavailable
    Sorry, the Flixster server isn't available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.

Solution:

  1. Check the status of the Flixster app and the Xbox Live service.
  2. If there are no current service issues and you get the error when you try to start the Flixster app or access content in the app, wait about a minute and try again.
  3. If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the Flixster app.
  4. If you keep getting the error, use the "Contact us" link at the bottom of this page to contact Xbox Support.
  • You must be signed in to Xbox Live to use Flixster.

Solution:

You may have lost network connectivity. Try to sign back in to Xbox Live.

If you can’t sign in, follow these steps to run the Xbox Live Connection test:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings, and then System.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select your network from the list.
  4. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
