Troubleshoot the UVideos app on Xbox Live

Learn how to troubleshoot problems with the UVideos app on Xbox Live.

Xbox Live connection problems

If video content is not playing smoothly in the UVideos app, you may be experiencing a connectivity problem. See Issues with connection speed or disconnects.

The UVideos app doesn't respond

If the UVideos app doesn’t respond to input, delete and reinstall the app . Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to UVideos.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps, and then select UVideos.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you keep getting this error, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the UVideos app.

Connectivity errors

  • UVideos Server Unavailable
    Sorry, UVideos isn’t available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • Sorry, the UVideos server isn't available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • Sorry, watchlist service isn't available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • This application is currently experiencing some issues. Please restart the application.

If you get one of these error messages, go to Service status to check if there’s a problem with Xbox Live or the UVideos app.

If there’s no problem and you get one of these errors when you try to start the UVideos app, wait about a minute and then try starting the app again.

If you still get an error, try deleting and reinstalling the app.

If you continue to get one of these error messages, see Issues with connection speed or disconnects and try to improve your connection speed.

If none of these solutions work, contact Xbox Support.

Application errors

  • The Kinect sensor has been disconnected. Please reconnect the Kinect sensor in order to continue using Kinect gestures and voice commands; alternatively you can use the Xbox controller to continue navigating the application.

    If you get this error message, it means that your Kinect sensor is disconnected from your Xbox 360 console. For help in reconnecting your Kinect, see Kinect for Windows.

    If you still get the error, contact Xbox Support.
  • Our console Ratings system is not supported by the application. The application only supports US Ratings system. You can turn off content controls in Settings, Family.
  • The current content is blocked because it is [Parental Advisory].

    If you get one of these error messages, it means that your parental controls are set to block content that displays the "Parental Advisory" logo.

    To unblock this content, you'll need to enter a PIN to enable playblack.

    Availability errors

    • Sorry for the wait. If you want, you can keep waiting or go back to the previous screen.
    • Sorry, the video you're interested in is no longer available.
    • The content you have selected is premium content and is not yet available for playback on the Xbox.
    • The video is currently not available.

      If you get one of these error messages, return to the previous menu and select a different item to watch.

    Account errors

    • Unrecognized username. Please go to www.xbox.com/UVideos and signup. If you get this error message, it means there was an error in linking the social network ID for your Univision account. Try the activation process again. To notify UVideos about this error, send email to UVideos@univision.com.
    • Unrecognized username. Please go to www.xbox.com/UVideos and signup.

    If you get this error message, it means there was an error linking your Univision account to your Xbox gamertag. Try the activation process again.
