Error C1010026 occurs when you try to play a video on Zune
Note As of November 15, 2015, the Zune service has been discontinued. This may cause errors when attempting to stream or download content or update the service.
You see an error code and message that resembles one of the following when you try to play a video that you previously purchased from the Zune marketplace:
- The video you’re trying to play is currently unavailable - C1010026
- Item Unavailable - C101002
This means that the video has been removed from the marketplace by the content owner and is no longer available.
There's no way to access the video online if the content owner has removed it from the marketplace. However, you will be able to stream it or download it at no additional cost when it becomes available again.
To maintain full-time access to the videos that you buy, download the videos to your computer and save them in your Zune collection. Videos are sometimes removed from the marketplace after you buy them. These decisions are made by the content owners of the videos, and Microsoft has no control over this. Often these periods of unavailability are known in advance. In most cases you'll be notified at the time of purchase.
