Can't play

This might mean one of several things:

  • You’re not signed in to the Windows Store.
  • You don’t have permission to access the content.
  • You’re trying to access explicit content from a child account that doesn’t have access to explicit content.
Note Windows Store content that's marked as explicit isn't available to anyone with a child account, unless allowed by the parent account in Family Settings. For more information about online safety and setting parental controls on your Xbox 360 console, see Set parental controls for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. You also view or revise your parental controls by signing in to your Microsoft account.

Solutions

  • Sign in to the Windows Store. If you get a message that says “Sign in to preview or play this,” tap or click Store on the Start screen or your desktop taskbar. You need to be connected to the Internet to open the Store, and you’ll need to sign in using a Microsoft account. Then, try your action again.
  • Close the app, restart, and try again. Close the app that you’re using, restart it, and then try your action again.
  • Sign in to an account that has the right permissions. If you're trying to play or preview explicit content, sign in to an account that has permission to access the content.
  • Try running the Apps troubleshooter. The Apps troubleshooter can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps and the Store.
If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.
