Turn on high contrast

High contrast helps you distinguish between items and text on your screen. You can only turn this on from the Ease of Access settings on your Xbox One console.

  • Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, select System > Settings > Ease of Access > High contrast, and then turn Dark theme or Light theme on.
  • To use voice commands, say “Hey Cortana, turn on high contrast.” Or "Xbox, turn on high contrast.”
  • If you’re using a keyboard, press Shift + Alt + PrtScn to turn high contrast on or off.

Note: This is a console-wide setting. When enabled, all account users on the console will see the theme you’ve selected. Custom colors and backgrounds won’t be displayed while in this mode.
