Use voice commands to control TV on Xbox One S or original Xbox One

As with all voice navigation on Xbox, using voice while watching TV in OneGuide requires a compatible headset or Kinect—some way to input the sound of your voice.

Say “Hey Cortana, what can I say?” for a list of commands. If there’s no microphone icon in the screen’s upper right corner, your Xbox isn’t listening. Repeat “Hey Cortana” before giving your command.

Voice commands

Note Voice commands are slightly different with digital assistants. For info on what to say to control your Xbox One with a digital assistant, see What can I say using Alexa and Cortana as digital assistants on Xbox One?
