Note As of November 15, 2015, the Zune service has been discontinued. This may cause errors when attempting to stream or download content or update the service.
You see the following error message when using the Zune software to burn or sync content:
This means that there's a user rights issue with the items you’re trying to burn or sync, and the Zune software can't verify your usage rights for the media that you’re trying to access.
To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.
Solution 1: Confirm your Zune account
Make sure that you’re signed in to the same Zune account that you used when you bought the items you’re trying to burn or sync. If this solution works for you, the next time you sign in again, you’ll be asked to verify your usage rights, and then you can continue burning or syncing.
Solution 2: Upgrade your media player's security components
Try upgrading the security components of your digital media player so you can access protected files on your computer again. To do this, go to the Security components upgrade website, and click Upgrade. If the Upgrade button doesn't appear, it means you already have the latest security components.
Solution 3: Test Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM
If your computer came with Windows 7 pre-installed, you might have to test whether Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM function correctly on your computer, and then run the ResetDRM tool. Here's how:
Note This download tests Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM functionality only; it doesn't resolve error C00D0BBE. A Windows Media DRM-protected media file is a media file that requires Windows DRM and Zune DRM to be fully functional in order for it to play.
Important The ResetDRM tool deletes all existing Windows Media DRM licenses and Zune DRM licenses on your computer's current installation of Windows 7. Run this tool only if all Windows Media DRM and Zune DRM content playback isn’t working. After you run this tool, you'll have to reacquire DRM licenses for your Windows 7 computer.
Note If your computer is running Windows 7 Service Pack (SP1), you'll need to set the ResetDRM.exe file to Windows 7 compatibility mode before it will run. Here's how:
