The Xbox (Beta) app on Windows is the best way to enjoy Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta). Use the app to browse games, play PC games, and connect and chat with friends across devices.
This app is the best way to experience Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta), and goes hand in hand with the full-featured Xbox Game Bar.
The Xbox (Beta) app’s Game Pass tab is where you see what’s new and browse games that come with Xbox Game Pass. Browse by genre, get recommendations, search, and—if you’re not a member yet—subscribe to Game Pass.
If you don’t have a Microsoft account or if you’ve never signed in on Xbox, you’ll need to when you launch this app. (You can browse games and poke around the app without signing in, but installing games and using the social features require sign-in.)
For help signing in, see Sign in on your Xbox.
Once you find a game to play, select it to read details, watch trailers and Mixer clips, and check system requirements. When you’re ready, select Install to start the download.
Trouble installing? See Troubleshoot Game Pass game installations on Windows 10.
In Social, chat with friends on PC, Xbox One, and phone. Text chats support embedded images, gifs, and videos. There’s voice chat, too—either 1:1 or with a group.
To get started, select the Social tab. If you’re signed in you’ll see Friends and Chats. For help signing in, see Sign in on your Xbox.
Friends lists your Xbox friends, if any. For help adding friends, see How to add new Xbox friends. Once you have friends, it’s time to interact. Right-click someone for options, including player profiles, favoriting, muting, reporting, starting voice chat, etc.
If you have trouble chatting, see Why can’t I send messages from my Xbox One or the Xbox app?
The Store tab offers purchase options for all games in the Xbox Game Pass for PC catalog, including game add-ons. Game Pass members get discounts on purchases.
