Your friends list

Your friends list shows you what all your Xbox friends are up to and lets you interact with them. Jump straight into a text or voice chat (one on one or in a group), join a friend’s PC game or invite them to yours, and look for people to follow.

To find your friends:

  1. Press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar.
  2. Select Home, then choose Xbox Social.
  3. Choose the Friends tab.

Just double-click on a friend to start a conversation, or right-click on a friend for advanced options (join voice chat, invite them to a game, view their profile, and more).

To connect with someone in the community, select the search box, then type a gamertag or something similar. Choose a gamertag that best matches your search, then double-click on them to start a chat or right-click on them for advanced options (follow them, invite them to a game, view their profile, and more).

To start a group chat, press Start a new chat, select which friends to invite, then press Done

Your conversations

When you start a conversation with someone or a group, they’ll show up in the Chat tab.

Just double-click a chat from the list to resume a conversation, or right-click a chat for advanced options (mute, clear history, and more).

To make it a voice chat, open a chat or start a new one, then select Join voice.

What’s Looking for Group?

Looking for Group is like a “gamers wanted” bulletin board—a way to help you find players for your favorite multiplayer games (Windows 10 or Xbox One, depending on which platform you’re playing on). Browse posts created by the Xbox community and respond to those that appeal to you. Or, try creating your own post—when enough people are interested, gather your squad and go play!
