The blinkbox app doesn't respond

If the blinkbox app doesn't respond, delete and reinstall it. Here's how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and highlight the blinkbox app. Press the Y button to access Game Options.
  6. Select Delete, and then confirm that you want to delete all items related to the app.
  7. Go back to the Dashboard.
  8. Go to apps and then to Browse Apps or Search Apps.
  9. Browse or search for the blinkbox app and then select it.
  10. Select Download and then Confirm Purchase to download and install the app.

If the app still doesn't respond, contact Xbox Support.

I am receiving error messages within the blinkbox app

If you receive error messages within the blinkbox app, check the status of the blinkbox service.

If there are no reported issues with the blinkbox service, try starting the blinkbox app again.

If you still experience errors within the blinkbox app, please contact blinkbox via feedback.blinkbox.com/home.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the blinkbox app.

  • Can’t connect to the Blinkbox Service.
    Error code: 0C01, 8009, or 0304

To resolve the error, follow these steps:

  1. Wait for about a minute, and then try to run the app again.
  2. Check the status of the blinkbox app.
  3. If still get the error, follow the instruction above to delete and re-download the blinkbox app.

If this doesn’t resolve the problem, contact Xbox Support.

  • We were unable to acquire a license to play this content. Please try again later.
    Status code: PLAY6xxx

To resolve the error, contact blinkbox support.

  • Sorry, this video isn't available right now. Please try again later.
    Status code: PLAY9xxx

The video player can’t download data at a sufficient rate to continue playing. To resolve this error, try the solutions at Issues with connection speed or disconnects.

  • We were unable to play this content. Please try again later.
    Status code: PLAYxxxx

To resolve the error, contact blinkbox support.
