    Turn off two-step verification

Sign in to your Microsoft account to turn off two-step verification.

    Sign-in

Two-step verification is an optional added layer of security on your Microsoft account. To turn off two-step verification and remove this requirement for all devices, consoles, and apps that you use, follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account. If prompted to validate your identity, enter the security code that was sent to your device.
    2. Select Security and then scroll down and select More security settings. You’ll be asked to enter your password or receive a security code to make sure you, and only you, are updating your account security.
    3. Under to Two-step verification, select Turn off two-step verification, and then confirm the change when prompted.
The 'Turn off' option is highlighted on the two-step verification screen.
