You see the following error code and message when you try to download an Xbox Dashboard update to your Xbox 360 console:
System update not downloadable.
Status code: xxxx-3080-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Note The “xxxx” digits in the sequence vary.
This may mean that your console can't find a previous version of the update.
To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.
Solution 1: Download the update to an external USB flash drive
To resolve this issue, download the update to an external USB flash drive. Then, install the update from the flash drive. Here's how:

- Replace the hard disk drive cover before turning the console back on.
- Remove the hard drive from an Xbox 360 S console:
- Turn off the console.
- Position the console horizontally.
- On the right-hand side of the console, locate the hard drive cover release (near the back of the console).
- Slide the release towards the front of the console while pulling the hard drive door open.

- Pull the tab to remove the hard drive.

- Replace the hard drive cover before turning the console back on.
- Remove the hard drive from an original Xbox 360 console:
- Turn off the console.
- Locate the hard drive on the top of the console (or on the left side, depending on how the console is oriented).
Note Not all Xbox 360 consoles include a hard drive.

- Press the release button on the hard drive.

Solution 2: Simplify your network setup
Sometimes the firewall on a router blocks the update from downloading. If your router has such a firewall, you have to temporarily simplify your network setup. Here’s how.
Solution 3: Request a repair
