Xbox hardware errors
If there's a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console, your TV might display an error message with a three-character code, such as System Error E74. If this happens, locate the error code in the following table to find out what to do.

Console software update errors
You may get an error while updating your console software. Or, you may receive an error after you update your console software. For example, when you try to play a DVD, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Some Xbox features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart.
