Error C0051200 occurs when using your Xbox 360 Kinect sensor
You see the following error message when you're using your Xbox 360 Kinect sensor:
The Kinect Sensor is too hot
Error code C0051200
This might mean that you need to turn off your Xbox 360 console and allow the Kinect sensor to cool. Then, try the following solutions.
Solutions
Solution 1: Unplug and reconnect the Kinect sensor
After the sensor is cool to the touch, unplug and then reconnect the sensor. Then, turn on the console and see if the problem still occurs. If you keep getting the error, try the next solution.
Solution 2: Position the Kinect sensor so it cools adequately
- Make sure the Kinect sensor has enough space around it for adequate cooling.
- Make sure nothing is covering the Kinect sensor.
- Move the Kinect sensor away from direct sunlight.

Solution 3: Request a repair
If the first two solutions didn’t resolve the problem, sign in to the Xbox Online Service Center to request a repair.
