You see error code C00D1249 when the Zune software tries to update your Zune player:
C00D1249
This means that the player was not updated successfully. The player enters self-recovery mode, and it displays the following message:
2: On your PC, open the Zune software and restore the device firmware.
Solution
- Disconnect your Zune player from the computer, and then reconnect it.
- In the Zune software, click Settings at the top of the screen.
- Click Device in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Click Update. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
