Error 80070490 occurs when you use Xbox Live or Movies & TV on Xbox 360
You see the following error code when you try to download your Xbox Live profile or stream video from Movies & TV:
This may mean that you need to either delete and recover your gamertag and clear your cache, or free up space on your hard drive.
Solution 1: Delete your gamertag, clear your cache, and recover your gamertag
If you get this error when you’re trying to download your Xbox Live profile, follow these steps:
- Unplug any accessories attached to your console, such as a headset, the Xbox 360 Chatpad, or the Kinect sensor.
- Delete your profile. For more information, see Delete an Xbox Live profile from an Xbox 360 console.
- Clear your system cache twice. See How to clear the cache on Xbox 360.
- Recover your gamertag. For more information, see Download your Xbox Live profile to a different Xbox 360 console or redownload it.
- Restart your console.
Solution 2: Free at least 200 MB of space on your hard drive
If you get this error when trying to stream video from Movies & TV, free at least 200 MB of space on your hard drive.
