Error PBR9012 occurs when making a purchase from your Xbox One console
You see the following error code and message when making a purchase from your Xbox One console:
We couldn't get authorization for this. Try a different or new way to pay. If you have more questions, ask your bank.
This means that there’s an issue with the approval authorization of the attempted purchase.
To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.
Solution 1: Contact your financial institution
Contact your financial institution or credit card company and inquire about your purchasing allowances and whether you have permission to make online purchases with your payment option.
Solution 2: Add a new payment option
Add a new payment option to your Microsoft account, and then try to make your purchase again. For more information, see the following pages:
- To add a payment option, go to Change a payment option, select Add a payment option on the left side of the screen, and then follow the instructions.
- To manage your payments options on Xbox One, see Manage your non-Xbox subscription payment options on Xbox One.
