Error 8007000B occurs when signing in to Xbox Live on Xbox 360

You see the following error and message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live on your Xbox 360 console:

  • Sorry, there's a problem with the Xbox service. Try again later.
  • Status code: 8007000B

This means that your console cannot connect to the Xbox Live service. This issue can occur for any of the following reasons:

  • Some Xbox Live features aren’t available because of system maintenance or because of an unexpected Xbox Live issue.
  • Your console might not be connected to the Xbox Live service.
  • You might not have the necessary ports open on your network.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Check the status of the Xbox Live service

Some Xbox Live features may not be available during scheduled maintenance or because of temporary Xbox Live issues. To determine the Xbox Live service status, go to the Xbox Live status page.

If there is an Xbox Live service alert, please try again later when the Xbox Live service is available. If the Xbox Live service is available and you keep seeing this error message, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Test your connection to the Xbox Live service

Test the Xbox Live connection on your Xbox 360 console. Here’s how:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to settings, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted.
  4. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.

    Note If the test fails and you can't connect to Xbox Live, try the steps in the Xbox Live Connection Error Solution.

If the Xbox Live service is available but your connection is not working, try the next solution.

Solution 3: Open network ports

To access Xbox Live, several ports need to be open on your network hardware or firewall. For information about which ports must be open for Xbox Live, see Network ports used by Xbox Live.

If the previous solutions don’t solve the problem, contact Xbox support.
