Error C00D1312 occurs when you use a Zune device to play a podcast

Problem

You see error C00D1312 when you play a podcast on a Zune device.

This may mean one of the following:

  • Zune has connected to the server that hosts the podcast, but it can’t read the server's response.
  • An error may be disabling the podcast feed.
  • The podcast may be in an unsupported format. (Zune supports podcasts that are in the RSS 2.0 format.)

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Make sure that you've typed the podcast's URL correctly.

Solution 2: Open the podcast URL in a web browser (such as Internet Explorer). Then make sure it points to an RSS feed and not to a generic HTML page.

Solution 3: If you're familiar with RSS formatting, you can view the podcast source to make sure it uses a valid RSS 2.0 schema. To view the source in Internet Explorer, press and hold or right-click the page, and then click View Source.
