If you get error code 4 and see the following message when you’re using your Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor, it means the Kinect sensor microphone is having trouble hearing you:
Kinect couldn’t hear the whole calibration tone.
Solution 1: Select “More info” and then “Try again”
On your console, select More Info to see suggestions of how to correct the problem. After you make the suggested changes, select Try Again to run the test again.
Solution 2: Make sure the Kinect sensor is positioned correctly

Solution 3: Request a repair
If the previous steps didn't resolve the problem, go to the Online Service Center and click Start Request to request a repair.
